So I’m all dressed up in my Kimono today because I have an exciting event to tell you guys about. There’s going to be a fashion weekend at Usagi Café, a very adorable Japanese-style maid/butler café in SL. The event runs both today and tomorrow at 12-3pm SLT with a bunch of special guests, shows, Live DJs, competitions and even a mini hunt to get involved in! The theme is ‘Past meets present’ so don your traditional Japanese wear and mix it up a bit with elements from your favourite subcultures such as Decora, Visual Kei and Gyaru styles or any other modern world fashion trends! Winners of the fashion contest will get either a gift card for Geisha dreams (for the girls!) or a special item from Meiyo (for the gents!). I’ll be there for a little while if you want to come hang out and enjoy the festivities with me! For full details on the event as well as a few previews of what hunt prizes you can grab, visit the Usagi Café website!
Now onto my look for the day! I managed to grab this very cute and girly Kimono from Umi Usagi. It’s one of their new releases and comes with all the accessories you could possibly need such as hairclips, shoes and socks. I managed to find a matching parasol off the Marketplace from Evo for just 25L$. It even comes with a hold pose so you can wear it with your AO!
If you’re in need of some freebie traditional Japanese wear for whatever occasion I have a couple places you can check out. MotiAme has two unisex Hakama out as a group gift, you can join the group for free and you can even change the colours of each part. And Bubblez designs has a few female Yukata on their luckyboards, they’re group only but again, the group is free to join!
